Children have been denied basic rights for over hundreds of years. Especially today. Children should not have bruised up bodies when going to school. There are many children out there who are faced with all different types of abuse. There's verbal abuse, sexual abuse and physical abuse. Most known today would be physical abuse.
An event that took place not that long ago would be the case of Nixmarie Brown. Seven year old Nixmarie Brown was failed by the Child Protection Services of New York City. There were many reports/complaints made by teachers, school officials, neighbors and family members, but nothing was done to prevent the devastating death of young, beautiful Nixmarie Brown. She was beaten, abused, tortured and starved by her mother and step father. This all continued until her death in her apartment bathtub. This young child's death could have been prevented.
Everyday children are beaten,starved and raped.Most times the authorities and Child Services are not even aware that children are being abused and even sometimes when the authorities are notified there is no guarentee that they will be moved from the home because their might not be evidence of the abuse. Sometimes the agency might see the parents fit to care for the child and thinks that they are safe in their home when it may be the opposite.
