Child labor
Child labor was a big issue back then in 1870-1938 it was a tragic movement. Leaders of these movements fought to stop children form working in factories and keeping children in school. Back then children were being taking advantage of forced to work at young ages on dangerous machines. Children were getting hurt form the dangerous machines they worked on. Children were tired from working all of those long hours with no pay. Children did not even have any education they were poor, depressed, and tired. That’s how it was back on 1912-1938 when the child labor law was not enforced.
There were all sorts of injustice in that time period in the 1912-1938 for example: Factory works in 1870 were finding ways around the laws by forging children working papers. Children are also working under very UN safe conditions that were going on in 1886 to stop this photo/journalist Jacob is picture and text. NY Passed the factory act in 1886.
Not enforced fully only 2 inspectors for NY State
Newsies went on strike in 1899 kid blink lead the Strike they were taken advantage of and asked to pay more for newspapers so newspapers the burned news papers so the newsies could not sell any the newspaper companies lower the price of the newspaper and the newsies felt that they new they can make a differences.
There was also method’s of resistance throughout these movements for Example: The Lawrence strike in 1912 12 year old Camella Telio is injured a machine pulls her hair and scalp. 23,000 Works went on strike because of what happened to 12-year-old Camella Telio. The president Taft asks some strikes to speak to congress 12-year-old Camella Telio spoke to the congress. The change in this act was congress in charge of child labor but 12 year old Camella Teilo was not the only kid to suffer throughout 1912-1938.
In this act there was an Achievement made the child labor amendment to constitution act almost 2,000,000 children ages 10 to 16work. They felt that something should be done so the national child labor committee plans to use this information to slow how factories ignore state child labor laws. The important thing about this amendment was what the outcome came out to which was the congress was in charge of child labor.
Children died of pneumonia and tuberculosis because of the dust in the windowless Factories. The conference recommends ending child labor. Children under sixteen can no longer work full time. Administration which works to out law child labor. The 1938–Fair act standards act most Americans fell children belong in school the supreme court believes it is the states job to regulate factories not congress jobs.
In Conclusion this movement made me think of how lucky I am to be in school and not working at a young age and not having to be forced to work with no education and no pay also of how luck I am to have money and wear nice fancy clothing and to be able to go to school so I can have a since of education and get threw in life with out having to be depressed and tired also poor.
