African Americans were treated very badly and weren’t given any civil rights. Besides from that they were also harassed by the Ku Klux Klan which was also known as the KKK. The movement that the African Americans took was the called the African American Civil Rights movement. The time period that this happened was between the 1860’s and the 1960’s. People like Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and Malcolm X were all people who lived through it and tried there best to stop it. The causes of the movement were to help African Americans gain a voice and respect. African Americans were lynched, were getting betting up, forced to sit at the back of the bus, different water fountains, bathrooms, and more. For this reason they had to do something to gain a voice. The success of the movement was integrated into the schools, public facilities, and even buses.

There were a lot of injustices like African Americans weren’t allowed to vote; also they had to give up their seat to a white person if they asked for it on the bus. Besides those two there were other bad injustices like different bathrooms for whites and blacks and different water fountains, and different baseball leagues. A related primary source, title, and date was in the 1940’s African Americans were in World War 2 and they were given all the worst jobs. The perspective of the primary source is to notify every one of the racial problems.

Methods of resistance played a big part in African American civil rights. The African Americans wanted there civil rights and to get them they had to do resist the racism. Some resistances were non- violent protests. Another method was bus boycotts and there was a lot of picket fencing. I think there were two leaders who really helped out. One was Martin Luther king Jr. because he had started the bus boycott so; people would not give the bus drivers money to sit in the back. Instead they started to walk.
Rosa parks was another great leader because when she didn’t get up to give her seat to the white man and got arrested because she did not go to the back. To show that courage she was a great leader.

With the Methods of Resistance came achievements, and with achievements came success. One achievement is from the bus boycott where African Americans did not use the bus because, of the incident with Rosa Parks. A lot of people did not use the bus and because of this it caused the drivers to let go. A related primary source where I found information on the methods of resistance for African Americans was in newspapers and from google.com. There I found out about how African Americans lived and what foods they ate and how they were racially discriminated.

My conclusion is about how the African American movement was very important and how it tells about how racial
America
used to be used to be important to Black History Month. Along with the African American movement came struggles, and the struggles make me feel good. I am very happy that things turned out to be good because, if they didn’t turn out to be the way they are because if things weren’t the way they are right now we wouldn’t be the way things are today.
