by joanne from Campaign for Equal Education in NYC Schools, 158x in Bronx, on March, 13th 2007This postcard is about how I'm explaining to Mayor Bloomberg, what we need in our schools. How we need an EQUAL EDUCATION. Its also about how I don't think its right that there is more kids in New York City but yet we get only have of the money from the State Budget. That's 50%. In this letter I also talk about how we need clean bathrooms with soap, clean cafeterias, better food for lunch, and a place that's not infested with rats because we shouldn't be in a place where we are learning when there is rats.

the past
by simon from Campaign for Equal Education in NYC Schools, 158x in Bronx, on March, 19th 2007Dear superintendent,
I attend middle school 158.This school is located at 800 Home Street. Our school 158 has many problems to overcome. For example newyorkcity scho ls only receive 50% of the money. We also have a low budget. My class 802 will like to protest with this letter we are writing to you. Another problem we have is that newyorkcity schools has the most population of students. We also have more students than money in our budget.
For example our school need new textbooks, pencils, and air conditioner. Our textbooks are broken , papers are rip off and dirty , our air conditioner do not work. Alsomple is that our class 802 does not have enough space.
Fight For Equal Education
by Ricardo from Campaign for Equal Education in NYC Schools, 158x in Bronx, on March, 19th 2007Equal education true or false. Back then education meant risking your life to gain an education.Today we are still fighting for an equal education maybe, not on the door steps of town hall .But today we are fighting for equal education by protesting .Back then they protested.Today we protest for injustices. Equal Education is one of the reasons people protest today
An example of this would be that back then the schools that the whites attended were more advanced than the schools african-americans attended
