Who are the "innocent public"? Let's say the government institues a new search policy, only the Arab-Americans would be searched. this reaches into thier private lives and leaves no room whatsoever for a right to privacy.  As a general rule, the government can't search your baggage without a reason to believe you're a criminal. There is no right for others to consent privacy being violented. Is there a saying that a white male is not likly to be a terroist? Not only are Arab-Americans being checked more often but males are searched way more than women. If Arab-Americans have to be checked, then everyone should be searched weather you are a male or a female or weather you are Europenan or an Arab.

Today, there is much talk about racial profiles because a person's race may somewhat be involved with terrorist groups and wrongs stuff like that.

Checking someone's driver's licence extra carefully and asking him a few more questions at an airport about his citizenship is very different than denying him a seat on the plane altogether. Forcing only one racial group to carry special ID cards inposes huge burdens, especially when one knows history and remembers the Nazi treatment of Jews. In general, the larger the burden we are imposing on a group, the less likely we would all impose it on ourselves if the racial roles were reversed.

      racial profiling is any police or private security practice in which a person is treated as a suspect beacuse of his or her race, religion, ethnicity, and nationality. it often involves stopping and searching of people of color for trafic violations also known as the "DWB". DWB stands for driving while black. Driving while blck is a name given to the "crime" of being a black driver. Driving while Brown is a more expensive way of referring to the "crime" or being a non white driver. After 9/11 police are stopping a variety of Arabs, Muslims, and Suth Asians. basically police are using racial profiles to decide which motorists to pull over. An incident takes place in Clayton, California where a black motorist Sam William asked the officer why he was pulled over. Sam states that the officer said "because someone in the back seat fidgeted. the officer later told Sam that he was held over because of "suspicious activity". Clayton Police Chief Pete Petersonsays that his department keeps a close watch for racial harassment. "We don't tolerate racial harassment or discrimination of any type. If somebody has a complaint like that, we will investigate it vigorously. If there is a problem, if discipline is necessary, we'll certainly take that kind of action" Peterson said. Racial profiling has been seen recently in New Jersey. Prosecutors filed a motion to dismiss charges against 21 people arrested by two state troopers who were accused of picking out drivers for traffic stops.
